Is downloading the scanner utility mandatory? (My company does not allow executables to be downloaded from the internet)

We have an asset-light approach to the scan and do not use an agent approach that requires you to install a software component on any machine in your network. The scanner utility collects data from your SBC, strips out personal and sensitive data locally so that it does not reach the cloud, encrypts the data and transports it to the cloud via secure channel.

Scanner utility is a mandatory component of the scan process.

  The scanner requires a PC with 8GB RAM and a free disk space of 1 GB. The current version of scanner supports Windows 10 or Windows 2016 server.

• Does the scanner on the laptop keep running even after the scan is completed?

  No. The scanner runs once you initiate a scan and stops running once the collected data is uploaded to the cloud. You are free to terminate the scanner once you see the message “You may close this window now”.
